The Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh on
Tuesday received a delegation from Principals of Teacher Training
Colleges Conference (PRINCOF) to introduce their new executives
to the ministry. They also used the opportunity to discuss issues
pertaining to their feeding fees, students allowance, reconstitution
of the college councils, Colleges of Education Teachers Association
of Ghana (CETAG), affiliation of colleges to Universities and the
centralized admission system among others.

In a brief address by the incoming president, Dr. Emmanuel
Nyamekye, he thanked the minister for giving them audience at
such a short notice and also on his support to the Colleges of
Education. In his response, Dr. Prempeh assured PRINCOF of his
continuous support to improve upon the Colleges.
On the CoE Councils, he informed the delegation of their
inaugurations latest by the end of the month. He added that by
next year, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission will host the
centralized Admission system for all tertiary universities
accredited by National Accreditation Board.
He urged the new executives to take advantage of his open door
policy to all unions, build a good working relation to develop and
enhance the training of our teachers to bring about the desired
learning outcomes.
