Earlier today, the Teacher and Trainess Advocacy (TTA) released a press statement concerning the Teacher Trainees allowances which since October,2018 trainees has not received their allowances from the Student Loan Trust Fund(SLTF).
TTA stated, concerns has been raised by some collegians on why allowances due them have not been hitting their accounts since October,2018 and some are with the notion that the allowances has been cancelled.
T he Advocacy further explained that, the delayance of the allowances is due to the strike of CETAG which washed away the whole of November last year and the need that arose for the restructing of the academic calendar.

Thus, the four months semester is now DECEMBER(2018), JANUARY, FEBRUARY, MARCH and APRIL this year.Therefore trainees are expected to receive their allowances from the aboved mentioned months.
The press release also indicated on the historic National Service of Newly Trained Teachers which begins today.
