In-service teachers do not write licensure exams - Christian Addai Poku

  National Teaching Council,NTC is a part of process to give Teachers license according to ACT 778, which states that " The mandate of the NTC is to professionalise teaching in the country, Ghana. This was put in place to make sure that, completing a college or educational courses in school doesn't qualify you enough to teach in the Basic schools in the country.
  In an interview with Nana Yaw Kesseh, host of Kookrokoo morning show on Peace Fm, today Christian Addai Poku stated: In- service teachers do not write exams to be given their licence. In service teachers are given their licence and then will go through training i.e Continuos Assessment Development and then renew their licence in 2-3 year after.

He said, it is pre-service teachers who are required to write their licensure exams before they are employed to teach in our schools.

In addition, he said, the March and September licensure exams result will be out in the first week of February. And added that, you will have to pay before you are given your licence.
