The Ghana Education Service Directorate in the Northern Region
has ordered all head teachers in the Chereponi District not to reopen
schools until calm is restored following recent clashes there.
Sources in the GES says the decision to keep the schools closed is
to ensure the safety of the students and staff.

On thursday,3rd January,curfew was imposed on the Chereponi district which the members of the town are not to be seen outside their homes from 4pm - 7am in the morning. As some says, the defence minister should not deploy much military personnels in the town as a case of solving the issue but the chiefs in both districts should come together so their followers will know there are peace among their leaders.
